I got hooked on Xena: Warrior Princess in January ‘99, just after switching to cable TV and thus being able to see the show (which is not generally available here in the UK) for the first time.  After much surfing of the Web I became fascinated with the various forms of artwork based on the series. Being a seriously non-creative person I spent most of my time collecting other peoples pictures, montages and wallpapers. After assembling a collection of several hundred wallpapers (especially Sherrie Butlers marvelous creations) I felt  inspired to have a go myself. The result is this site which was created  to show off my personal Xena wallpaper designs. The originals were created at 1200 x 900 (my desktop is 1920 x 1200 on a 24” TFT monitor) and scaled down to 1024 x 768. They use a low level of compression to preserve quality and are typically  120k - 350k in size. I do screencaptures from the series, these are of a high standard and can be found on the Screencaps Page, almost all Season 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 episodes are featured.  There are also many caps from other TV series  such as Hercules, Young Hercules, Farscape, Buffy, Angel, Lost, Legend of the Seeker, Dark Angel, Stargate SG-1, Charmed, Enterprise, Andromeda, Voyager, Earth:Final Conflict, Witchblade, Battlestar Galactica, Atlantis, Smallville & Firefly and many films.  Something for everyone :) Note that there are a number of high quality personal  scans available, go to Mikes Page to find the Galleries.  There are also links to a large number of other sites that I’ve found to be of excellent quality and are highly recommended on this page. A number of these wallpapers have  been posted to the alt.binaries.multimedia.xena-herc newsgroup from July 1999 to November 2009. This newsgroup is well worth visiting regularly for the outstanding artwork posted.  I’ve added an ABMX-H Page with typical examples from most of the  regular contributors, check it out!
